     @nugger @KarlDahl @confederatehobo Knowing how the first blue LED was made, I think such tech is still feasible even with a collapse, but at extreme cost and difficulty.

     YOU NEED SOME DELIVERY METHOD
     YOU NEED A CART THAT DUMPS CARBIDE OR COAL INTO YOUR CELLAR AND IF ITS COAL THEN YOU ALSO HAVE A GASSIFIER FURNACE TO MAKE COAL GAS OR YOU GET A NATURAL GAS TYPE INFRASTRUCTURE FROM THE COKE BURNERS OR FROM MINING OIL

     JUST HAVE LIGHT OUT OF STICKS AND PINE NEEDLES FROM YOUR BACK YARD
     
     BUT IN MY EXPERIMENTS I CAN'T GET THE FIRE TO LAST LONGER THAN FIVE MINUTES A CHARGE
     TRYING TO FRANKENSTEIN A REALLY TALL CAN OF FUEL RESULTS IN AN UNRELIABLE FIRE BECAUSE THE PRIMARY DRAFT STRUGGLES TO FLOW THROUGH ALL OF THE FUEL
