     @a1ba i imagine valve is going to have to issue a lot of refunds on account of uh, the publisher deliberately removing the ability to play it. cause if you're in a place that can't have a PSN account, but they sold the game there, and have been playing it, this constitutes a massive bruh moment wrt. terms of sale.

     @thendrix @raizen we had one player that it dropped 3 times in the same mission.
     
     two months ago we could pack a 4 man team and play for 2-3 hours no drops. now i can't even get a single mission without reinvites and crashes.
     
     oh, but the 10$ piece of shit gun they're about to nerf in the ground. that's coming on schedule my blobs.

     @icedquinn it reminds me that Steam did refunded Doom Eternal for me when they suddenly added anti-cheat (for mostly a singleplayer game mind you).
     
     They later removed anti-cheat but that's another story.

     @thendrix @freon it was not when I purchased the game through Steam. And likewise, if it had been the case, the game should have been blocked in China, Estonia, Belarus, and other countries on Steam

     To be fair the requirement always existed, but now they’re enforcing it as the player counts are manageable now. If they were smart they would have ‘opt-out league’ without jannies.

     @thendrix @freon no, the PSN requirement was not there and is new. Steam users were not required to have a PSN account and it was not in the EULA or mentioned anywhere before

     @thendrix @freon I brought those up because they have a lot of purchases of Helldivers 2, but most of Africa is also not covered by PSN, same goes for the middle east, a bunch of Pacific ocean countries, some of South America... 1nd those people paid for the game.

     Also, Sony FAQ used, before today, to say that PSN game purchased on Steam didn't require a linked PSN account. That changed today, reading that "some games require linked accounts"

     You said Belarus and China earlier, so I don’t know why you brought that up. As I mentioned SCEE used to cover more nations referring to Europe. That pretty much covers the bare minimum political and financial territory exclusion examples.

     @thendrix @freon erm, Estonia is UE and literally has NATO troops in it. That is not BRICK+. PSN is only available in 62 countries worldwide.

     It’s not about where they have offices. SCEE used to cover more nations for example. My quip was about how BRICS+ and related nations can get banned on service A and service B won’t be able to do anything about it.

     It had nothing do do with "bad nations", it has to do with PSN being available only in countries where Sony has offices, Estonia and Kazakhstan are just countries like others.

     Oh also, people got banned from Helldivers 2 for using a VPN to get access to PSN
