   Since a ProPublica investigation found that states were seizing child support headed to #families as reimbursement for the mother having received welfare, at least six states have changed their policies. Others are debating doing the same.

     Read our investigation from 2021 that revealed how states were demanding highly sensitive info from single mothers and then using that info to track down fathers. But the child support payments seized by the states never made it to the kids:
