kaia (kaia@brotka.st)'s status on Thursday, 02-May-2024 03:22:58 JST kaia I found an old VeraCrypt container with tomboys. all images are broken a bit. are there tools to try to fix this on Linux? it's not a big loss, just annoying - Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: and snacks like this.

Beko Pharm (bekopharm@social.tchncs.de)'s status on Thursday, 02-May-2024 03:26:56 JST Beko Pharm @kaia good chances they magically revive by just converting em with imagemagick to another file ext 🤷
Saved a bunch of images like that with invalid data or broken headers.

𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝@𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚝𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛.𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚋 (threat@shitposter.world)'s status on Thursday, 02-May-2024 03:38:29 JST 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝@𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚝𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛.𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚋 @kaia that's a tough one. iirc veracrypt treats the container like it's own filesystem and doesn't really care about what's underneath (operating system/etc). if you haven't had a lot of write cycles to your machine you might be able to do some forensics on the filesystem inside the container, but it may not be worth the effort. kaia likes this. -

kaia (kaia@brotka.st)'s status on Thursday, 02-May-2024 03:39:49 JST kaia @bekopharm it was worth a try, but sadly there seems to be content lost within the image, so a conversion does not result in a complete image. thanks!
