"The crackdown on student protest that we have witnessed in recent weeks, however, is not about preventing anti-Semitism nor is it about protecting Jewish students – many of whom are themselves among the protesters. It is about an attack on basic principles of democracy, on the autonomy of universities, and on freedom of speech."
