I used a two step process to attempt to fix hinge anchors that had pulled out of the plastic on the top screen backplate of a Lenovo IdeaPad laptop.
First, I used the heat of a soldering iron to push the brass anchors back into the plastic of the backplate. The anchors are farther back than what they were originally, but sometimes just doing this will fix an anchor if there's enough plastic left to hold.
In this case, there wasn't that much plastic to hold the anchors, even when sunk back in with heat.
So I also used JB Weld epoxy. Put some behind the hinge. Then screwed the hinge to the anchors I sunk in with the soldering iron. After that, I spread some of the epoxy over some of the holes and edges of the hinge plate.
Will let it sit overnight and test tomorrow. Should hold now, as the epoxy is strong once set.
