   Mastodon and the fediverse are developing a reputation for being good news sources, and I think this is because so many of the big news organizations are not here. As users, we've learned to fill the gap by posting stories from news sites, and our posts include links to those sites.

   We aren't boosting Resister Influencer No. 239 who is paraphrasing what Resister Influencer No. 72 posted, which was a QT of Resister Influencer No. 654 who doesn't attribute a source.

     I think there are a lot of journalists who wish Threads was a better alternative, but there is also a lot of anger about Threads' decision to limit how news is prioritized and amplified.

     I see a somewhat common thread in their threads about Threads: journalists want to use other platforms in the same way they used Twitter.

     And the fediverse continues to be overlooked by the vast majority.
