There's WINE, darlinghq and endless emulators - I do imagine the unparalleled results if a fraction of that effort was put into writing free replacements tbh.

Wine is a mixed bag, and when it comes to running proprietary shitware there's a distinction between something "running" and being usable in any capacity.

@VIPPER glibc is now forward compatible unless you use it wrong.
If you used it wrong, you just recompile - portage handles it all automatically even.
