     @cell here they are almost exclusively a recreational vehicle for middle-aged men to experience "freedom" by driving recklessly and feeling a comradery them miss in normal life in their motorcycle clubs.

     @lain @cell they are infringing on the freedom of the others. there are many motorcycles that are as loud as cars - those are fully acceptable. motorcycles that are louder than an ambulance siren are not okay.
     
     the drivers don't hear the noise anyway when driving because it gets projected behind them.

     Base-bumping suvs and lowered honda civics with aftermarket pipes also exist.
     
     I am an anarchist, but until I'm allowed to set up an automated lrad turret to make the ears of any driver with a vehicle louder than 90db bleed, noise ordinances should be enforced swiftly and with extreme prejudice.
