@britter Oh yeah, they’ll tell you that you’re for censorship or against freedom of speech, but they generally fail to understand that this concept only exists when it comes to their government, not to other individuals or companies.

If they spewed their BS in my house, I’d throw them out, so it’s the same on any of my online places. For some reason, they seem to not understand that this is entirely normal 😂

@thelinuxEXP this is exactly the right thing to do. And most of them will still not understand / accept that their behavior is not tolerated. See the case at hands 😕

Anyways, you can be sure the vast majority of your community will thank you for creating a safe space to share and discuss ideas and opinions. 🫶 it’s okay to respectfully disagree and still be friends.

@britter Yeah, basically, anyone who thinks « woke » means something or says something horrible and then « it’s a joke bro » is banned immediately from any place that I run, and I refuse to give them a voice, more than what they already have :)

@britter Oh I’m not touching that topic with a 10 foot pole. I’ve learned the hard way to avoid anything remotely controversial on my channel, as it just creates stress and anger for me. Not worth it!

I do think the typical Hyprland community behavior is the exact fringe of the Linux community that I want no part of, the « muh freedom of speech » weirdos that think being nice to others is being political, and think « woke » means anything, but I’m not covering them publicly.

@thelinuxEXP I absolutely understand that! The internet is unfortunately still a bad place with a lot of douchbags bullying people with a different opinion 😔

Hey @thelinuxEXP is this https://drewdevault.com/2024/04/09/2024-04-09-FDO-conduct-enforcement.html something for the next linux news video, given the popularity of tiling WMs - Hyprland in particular - in your community (according to your community survey)?

In any case, love your videos. Keep up the good work! 👍
