Pleroma-tan (kirby@lab.nyanide.com)'s status on Friday, 12-Apr-2024 07:38:53 JST Pleroma-tan this is the reason people are complaining about the mozilla announcement
they are NOT adding anything ai related into the browser, they simply introduced a toolkit for guis which lets you prototype with ai. there is no mention of firefox anywhere in the article. people are just hopping on mob mentality-

Pleroma-tan (kirby@lab.nyanide.com)'s status on Friday, 12-Apr-2024 07:43:29 JST Pleroma-tan @prettygood how much would something like what mozilla did even cost? i don't really think it was meant to be a high profile announcement -

prettygood (prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer)'s status on Friday, 12-Apr-2024 07:43:30 JST prettygood @kirby the issue is that they already spend a vanishingly small amount of their HALF BILLION DOLLAR revenue on actually developing software. I don't care about AI but I'm angry because this is another waste of money chasing the latest meme tech. Pleroma-tan likes this. -

prettygood (prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer)'s status on Friday, 12-Apr-2024 07:55:23 JST prettygood @kirby that's *my* gripe. I didn't click through the article, so my comment on the fedi post was based on the assumption that it was going to be something built into the browser with no straightforward off switch, the way they did with Pocket. That probably isn't the case, with the benefit of hindsight, so my original comment probably looks a bit stupid, but I'm sticking with it because Librewolf does solve a lot of the issues that they have created for users. Pleroma-tan (kirby@lab.nyanide.com)'s status on Friday, 12-Apr-2024 07:58:05 JST Pleroma-tan @prettygood seems to be the popular opinion of some people as well, albeit some people are basically just bashing on mozilla with no further reasoning, which is why i said it was mob mentality -
