     Even in the US, baseball's not as popular as it once was, and TV viewership seems to be aging, versus other sports (especially America's *actual* modern pastime, football):

     (Though that survey doesn't ask any actual Baby Boomers, who are all in the 65-late 70s age bracket by this point.)

     Hmm, possible reasons baseball's not more globally popular:

     - the rules are complicated

     - it requires some amount of equipment to play (bats, gloves, balls, etc.) which might not be cheap

     - it's slow paced

     - in parts of the world, there's already a popular bat-based sport: cricket
