Purely out of curiosity, what is the source of these kits? Someone takes a gun and cuts it up. This makes a lot of sense for guns that cannot be imported as guns. The ugly side of living under the oppressive regime, I get that. But where do these come from? Are they all stolen and/or hot guns, which are cut up in order to dump the S/N?

i've heard they basically all come from police cleaning out their evidence lockers. the department gets to say the guns were destroyed and the company that cuts up the frames gets the profits from the parts kits.

A Ruger 1911 goes for $700+ at GB and $449.97 at EGP. There's no way someone buys guns up at market prices and cuts them up for resale to 3D printers.
