   The problem is by that point the commies had been plotting behind their backs for 40+ years.
   
   Joe McCarthy was their big attempt to fight back, and that WAS pushed on the TV. We are only taught the commie version of what happened now, but there was mass support amongst the public.

     McCarthy was controlled opposition and a homosexual Zionist. None of the jews that were blacklisted ended up facing any real consequences with the exception of the Rosenbergs. He was basically on the side of proto-neocon jews who realized communism had lost its usefulness for them after the war.
