     @annekekassteele it's just lots and lots of lichen. The whole little gorge is full of all sorts of lichen and moss. Here's another kind in a nearby tree. Unique and special place.

     @annekekassteele I'm very fortunate. This is practically my back garden. First time I've ever stopped for a walk on the trip north, though. Probably driven past 100s of times.
