I have a whole half-formed half-baked theory about how the central point of all Cohen Bros movies is that there is no reason for anything, a bunch of things just happen and there’s no point and the universe is fundamentally absurd, and Frances McDormand’s compelling performance accidentally ruined Fargo by giving the whole movie a point and the point is just “this person can exist.”
