     @WarnerCrocker did they contract to other candy makers? Because I haven’t heard of blonder, yet that seems a fairly large plant.

     Chicago has a rich candy history I wouldn’t mind reading more about.

     @WarnerCrocker Oh, what a shame. That’s so many lost jobs. May everyone who is being laid off find something even better for them.

     I once lived sort of close to a cookie factory. It made that whole neighbourhood smell amazing. I’d bet that people will miss the chocolate scent in the air in Chicago, too.

     @WarnerCrocker Oh no! I remember that chocolate smell when we would drive in to downtown from the ‘burbs. How sad. 😞
