   Honestly my conviction that the NDP is basically the Liberal Party stems from the fact that there are only two narratives on climate change. Liberals and carbon tax and conservatives bitching about axe the tax + technology will save us and what we do doesn’t matter except to get the parts of the coal burning world hooked on 🇨🇦 methane gas… the carbon tax is essentially an economist-backed policy and “china burns coal therefore our emissions don’t matter” is winning #ottawa #canada #cdnpoli

     Same happening across the pond here in the UK.

     Conservatives going full on anti #ClimateCrisis mitigation and giving taxpayers money away to the fossil fuel co.s

     Liberals are farting about in the middle ground, while still enabling #FossilFuelLobby & empty pledges

     Unfortunately in our 2 party system is tough to get #GreenParty in power

     The conservatives are definitely going to (and are now) win folks over on the “tech will save us and china is dirt” line. They will roll every aspect of climate change policy implemented in the past decade. And honestly? Fuck the liberals for doing “really” fuck all expect to hang their entire body of #climatechange bonafides on the carbon tax. The walked right into the political traffic highway themselves last October. Fuck us #ottawa #canada #cdnpoli

     So a huge part of this conversation just fucking sitting there that the NDP could capitalize on (and maybe they are?) but as someone who is fairly tuned in to various aspects of provincial and national politics I can even think of the last time I heard a fucking peep from them on this. And the Alberta NDP leadership race put that province in front for getting rid of the carbon tax from a non-conservative party #canada #cdnpoli #climatechange
