Other than the soldering issues, so far the bringup has actually gone quite smoothly. Only one actual board bug and that was fixable with a bodge cable, no need to actually rework the PCB.
I haven't had to do a single ECO to the board itself and most of the key functionality is now working.
On the gateware/firmware side of things, it's also been smooth sailing. Most of the stuff to date has been copied from previous projects (most notably LATENTPINK) with small changes for pinouts etc.
There's still a lot more to build on the SSH/SCPI/networking side, but that'll all get used in upcoming designs too - I'm trying to build out a reusable infrastructure platform I can use for future instrumentation projects and this is the pilot project for that.
Board stackup seems to be fine so far, SI on the 10G signals is great.
Still a bunch of unknowns on the mechanical side but I'm nowhere near ready to do a chassis design for this thing yet.
