3.5 years ago I was fired from my (somewhat) cushy and (somewhat) high paying government job. I had worked there for 6 years and I was good at my job. When they fired me, I really felt like I had been fucked. I decided to hire a lawyer and put in a discrimination claim. Being the beautiful white man that I am I did not expect a favorable outcome.
During this process I learned that I had indeed been fucked by my former employer(the government). I was performing at a level equal to or higher than my coworkers, yet I was the only one fired. (I worked with A LOT of minorities and women.) I had to spend thousands of dollars in legal bills. This process which is supposed to take no more than like 3-6 months from start to finish has taken almost 4 years, mainly because the government has not followed any of their own rules. There were multiple deadlines for legal documents that I would bust my ass to meet, only for the government to respond years late or even not at all. I have been preparing to go to trial with this case. We would present our cases in front of a judge and a decision would be made.
Recently, out of nowhere, I received an email in the middle of the night. It was from an extremely ethnic sounding name of some black woman within the government. She wrote that the government had conducted their own internal review and they have found that I had been discriminated against. They agreed to pay me back pay for the last 3.5 years. Pay for my legal bills. As well as compensation for damages(yet to be determined). They also offered me a job equivalent to or better than my old job. This is some of the best news I have ever received. I kinda feel like an undeserving dick bag and its made me a little bummed, but I also feel like this is a gift from god and who the hell am I to question his divine plan... Anyways. Idk how much Im going to get, but I know the minimum amount I could receive and it's still more money than I've ever had.
Not trying to brag or anything, but I had to share it with someone. I can't and I haven't told many people about this. S
I am super stoked to see how this turns our though. Lol

There is still hope in this world. Thank you for not folding. We need more people to fight the good fight.
