     @clacke do you think all of them jumped him at once? Or did one person take him out and all the others formed an orderly line and waited for their turn to get a stab?

     Where do we know 23 stabs from, is that from medical records? Senate proceedings? I'm sincerely curious now if this was systematically established or just word on the street!

Flavius Eutropius stated that a detailed report of Caesar’s injuries was issued by a physician who performed Caesar’s autopsy, and this report is seen as the earliest documented post-mortem report in history."

     I feel like it's implied that this 4th century report on the report is the oldest physically preserved official-sounding record?

     No, Sietonous and Plutarch wrote official histories and biographies only decades after the events.

     @sotneStatue It seems a handful of people stabbed him repeatedly according to official history.

     Only a few were there holding knives, the rest of the conspirators were only ... stakeholders.
