@eidolon @Inginsub eh, yugioh doesn't look that bad from what i see, it's extremely schizophreniac for a kids' anime, idk about the card game itself

@lina @Inginsub @eidolon yugioh wasn't intended to be a kids series initially, many of its more schizo elements stem from the original series which was about playing games in which the loser would die in horrible ways. Card game took off though and the rest is history

@Vaghrad @Inginsub @eidolon thing is that japanese standards for kids media seem to be different, after all kill la kill was rated r13 despite the blood, gore, nudity and vulgar jokes

@lina @Inginsub @eidolon absolutely yeah. If my memory serves right it was meant to be straight up horror though, with yugi driving people to straight up suicide and people burning alive for cheating. Can't find shit on google about it though, how did search engines get this fucking bad

        List of deaths
In the canon of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, (much like many other manga series) there have been a number of significant character deaths along the course of the plot. Unlike other "battle" manga/anime the number of character deaths is kept few and far between in keeping with Takahashi's original vision of a battle series where the heroes (though not their summons) didn't have to use violence to fight. However, in the 4Kids Entertainment and 4K Media versions of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, many of these de

@lina @Inginsub @eidolon no clue how they made that work in the 4kids version over here, where no one ever died but went to the shadow realm or moved to another country :nostale_altr:

@Vaghrad @Inginsub @eidolon 4kids were really working overtime for something as trivial as not letting kids think that someone died
