   Came across a new (to me) Japanese word today: 一夫多妻。

   It means "polygamy" in English, but it's amusingly literal: 一夫多妻 means "one husband many wives" 😁

   Also interesting that "polygamy" is gender-neutral, but 「一夫多妻」 clearly isn't. But of course, there could be another Japanese term that is gender-neutral, I just don't know it.

     @mario The word for polygamy is 複婚（ふくこん）.

     If you want to be more precise, 一夫多妻 is polygyny, and then there's also 一妻多夫, polyandry.
