   i don't like macron but his quote that "the public debate is permeated by russian misinformation" is undeniably true. it's unbelievable to me how many people blindly repeat propaganda they heard from somewhere. i get mad at people for saying dumb things but i keep forgetting that they simply don't have the... well... it's not really a privilege... they don't have the same lived experience that most russians do. american propaganda almost looks shameful and pathetic compared to the industrial powerhouse that is the kremlin network, and so it's only natural that people (even those who are incredibly well educated, might i add!) will fall for it. there really needs to be an english news source similar to tv rain that actually can break this stuff down. perhaps i can translate an article here or there and add context... it's eye-opening stuff even for me a lot of the time tbh

     @nosleep they don't care about the russians saying shit, that's the thing. they care about being criticized, esp. the WEF who has openly complained in their meetings that their control grid is failing and people aren't believing "experts."
     
     the CIA already compromised all the news orgs since the 1960s so it's not exactly like SUDDENLY APROPOS OF NOTHING the FSB became some threat that calls for worldwide realtime censorship when it didn't four years ago, is my point

     @nosleep @icedquinn the dumb bitch that ran the American minitru called everything Russian disinformation and then believed the Trump pee tape. Yes there is Russian disinformation but our country is drowning in domestic disinformation at every level of sophistication. Most people drink Coke American disinformation, but if you're too cool to fall for that, we also have Pepsi misinformation, you're not dumb like those Coke drinkers.

     @Moon i don't really know anything about ukraine but i saw the footage of the editor of CFR bragging to colbert about rigging elections there, and the footage of biden's "son of a bitch he got fired," and pretty much concluded the administration has no moral authority to comment on that country.
     
     haven't really listened to anything about it since.

     @icedquinn I think our propaganda is way more sophisticated than Russia's. But I don't want to assume they're incompetent either. I am sure that both countries use bad propaganda to misdirect you being suspicious of more subtle propaganda.

     Well, their narratives are closer to the truth on the ground. Just consider the Minisk Accords, Nuland coup, and Nordstream 2.

     I was well ahead of the curve on this, and Russian back channels have been the best sources over time in this conflict before and after the start of the war.

     I'll turn on RT English for their top of the hour news sometimes and IMO maybe like 15% of it is unintentionally hilarious propaganda, and maybe 60 to 70% serious and respectable journalism and analysis.      @Moon @ryan i mean stuff like CISA is basically treason*. you have the administration coercing the companies to delete stuff that is unfavorable to the regime because it credibly accuses them of criminality. and then you have the DOJ literally coming out and saying yes the president is a criminal but its okay and he won't be prosecuted because he's too stupid.
