Typing with the keyboard flat is... actually more comfortable? I don't know why i hadn't tried it before.

@cinerion its nice when the keyboard is really flat like with low profile keys. some of those you can even do entirely without any kind of wrist support and be just fine. -

@cinerion it really depends. i had/have a 50$ low profile that perixx discontinued and it was more than fine when i wasn't programming all the time.
the super custom stuff is for show, or nolifers, or people who've already destroyed their wrist. -

@icedquinn@blob.cat When i have money i'm definitely going into the keyboard rabbit hole to give it a try. Though i don't know if i'll see any benefits, as i happen to spend less and less time on my computer since i moved to the countryside. I hope that's also helping in preventing rsi... at least on the wrists.

@cinerion some of it also has to do with uhh people who use those official typing postures tend to wreck themselves more than organic learners. people like pirate software and i just float over and around the board which makes it less prevalent of a problem. -

@cinerion yeah there's "official" ways to type on a keyboard taught by schools. much like piano trainers, they'll fuck up your wrists. -

@icedquinn@blob.cat official typing postures? As in how to place your hands on the keyboard or touchtyping? Or the whole body posture? :thinkbird:
