   @acookiecrumbles 5 minutes is to allow users to edit the post before it federates, as for native Threads users the service gives them 5 minutes to change posts before they can no longer be edited.

     @tchambers ah, gotcha — the five minute delay is still a tad annoying, but if no edits are allowed after that irrespective, then at least one less thing to worry about.

     (For some reason, I thought you could edit posts indefinitely on Threads)
