     @spinni81 @taliajane Because NYC recently locked all its exits and added extra police to "crack down" on fare evasion (not to mention the National Guard to search bags) despite the public outcry regarding emergencies, the disabled, children, elderly, etc.
     They are not concerned with saving people's lives, they are interested in "cracking down" on the citizenry.
     They vastly prefer spending enormous amounts on militarized #police than on anything helpful at ALL.

     @_L1vY_ @taliajane That's terrifying. Why does this contraption not open up in an emergency. These things can be a real emergency exit. My local hardware store (not in the US) does this. It's used as a back entrance but it can open completely in case of emergency.
