@awl What if someone is both?

@opal @awl @sim oh now everyone has gotten soft as shit over miniscule shit and while you could blame pronouns and all, it was starting before that tbh in the fandom.
The tipping point was when trump won and the summer of love in 2020 was a nuclear bomb to the fandom. You had to fall in line or you'd lose your friend circle of fake friends who will dump you over minor shit anyhow

@opal @awl @sim I've been banned from a few furry discords and steam groups. Also telegram.
The funniest was when the jannies thought I was swearing by posting a link to the old chinkshit randomizer. It's clear furry chats aren't for talking to people just taking selfies in your fursuit you maxed your credit card to get.

@opal @awl @sim I've pissed off too many people for being both in shitposting and furry circles at once since both absolutely hate each other you have no idea

It’s because the fur fandom was so accepting that it’s such a fucking mess today. Being open and accepting led to pathological openness, and the lowest common denominator of people flooded in. Even having standards is seen as an affront, as can been seen of what happened to the burned furs. Except today anyone who does so and attracts enough attention will be called a “transphobe” as opposed to a “homophobe”.

@PhenomX6 @opal @awl How bad does it get that this happens even in the furry fandom? I am so glad that I didn't get involved in any of these fandoms just to get dropped over silly things. People need to get out of their heads. You'd think that furries would take what friends they can given the impression that wider society has for their fandom. Makes me wonder how oppressed they really are if they can afford to do this.

What’s the most striking to me, is that open people don’t need to proclaim themselves to be as such. Actions speak louder than hollow platitudes.

@Ironwood @opal @awl @sim it's funny they say they're open but if you're into something artistically they don't like they have a giant meltdown. Until it's a trend on Twitter and then they'll be into it.

@Ironwood @opal @awl @sim that could describe anything really. I've seen how people who talk about how "I've changed" all day do it just to signal. Then they'll be back to their old tricks not long after.

I agree. Exclusivity creates value. The subtext of the push for all things being inclusive as possible is that it devalues the entity the inclusion is being pushed upon.

@Ironwood @opal @PhenomX6 @awl It's weird that people get triggered over others having standards and tastes. It doesn't work like they want it to. You can't be completely open to everything, there is a line drawn somewhere.

The good ol’ “If you have to tell others you’re better than someone, you’re probably not.”
