    @tootbrute Yeah desktops step on each other in your home directory, it's silly and should be fixed.

      @jorge Oh. Because I was just going to ask, shouldn't rebasing and installing from scratch be equivalent?

      @tootbrute So is that the issue? That they have state inbthe home directory and they want it a bit different from each other? Would it be enough to create a fresh user after rebasing?

      @clacke @tootbrute They should, but apparently gnome and kde step on each in the home directory.

      If you create a new user with a fresh home it works fine, we've got an open issue for a "powerwash" style reset for something like that.

      But also seriously programs should never touch other programs home directories that's just icky.
