     @kaia I think the more modern (and most of the time these days accurate) term is machine-in-the-middle, which handily goes by the same acronym

     @kaia oh, sorry if that sounded too explanatory, I'm tired and just wrote one page of a cover letter. It's really just what I observed from reading/listening, now that I googled it, it seems like it isn't used that widely yet.
