In the latest post in my Web 2.0 memoir, I reflect on the beginnings of "hustle culture." I met Gary Vaynerchuk in Oct 2007, early in his story arc of becoming GaryVee the social media star. Gary had even become a Read/WriteWeb sponsor earlier in 2007, probably to grease the wheels with the insider networks of Silicon Valley — being on RWW helped legitimize him in the tech industry.
