thankful for the ast training I've taken.
took a quick run up into the hill yesterday afternoon on my tele and skins. no rescue gear because I was solo and didn't intend to go anywhere risky.
took a wrong turn, found myself at the bottom of a runout. started to turn back and heard some uncomfortable sounds from deep in the snowpack.
I don't know if I'll ever trust my alpine decision making skills enough to navigate complex terrain, but I'm thankful to know enough to turn around.
