     @dommymommy I worked in a Blockbuster Video partway through university. Dealing with very stupid, very entitled and very mean people every day ruined me. Nothing else since then has come close to that drop.

     @Moon @dommymommy I had an existential crisis where I lost myself throughout my teen years so it's a bit hard to top that in adulthood. Still recovering from that in my adult years.

     @Moon that’s horrible, but fascinating that it’s the blockbuster of all places. I was broken in by a shitty job too - woke up at 5 am for a whole summer to open boxes. TONS of labor laws broken. seeing how much useless, worthless shit the store brought in and that people actually bought drove me insane, and seeing them treat this 60 year old guy dying of heart disease so poorly made me want to walk out

     @dommymommy I worked for a missile company for a while. over time I started feeling worse and worse about it. But there was a guy in the same row as me that was a missile engineer. He was dying of cancer but he couldn't afford to stop working and I watched this poor guy just wither away while trying to make better killing machines
