"More than four years after it was first introduced, the Online Safety Act (OSA) was passed by the U.K. Parliament in September 2023. The Act seeks to make the U.K. 'the safest place' in the world to be online and provides Ofcom, the country’s communications regulator, with the power to enforce this. EFF has opposed the Online Safety Act since it was first introduced. It will lead to a more censored, locked-down internet for British users.
