@kabrams I wouldn't mind moving to a part of LA where they don't exist! They're always in my way walking -

@eris around here the food delivery robots exist in West Hollywood, a handful of them in Hollywood proper, some on the west side down near UCLA, and I think a friend mentioned seeing them in Koreatown.
then again, the area that is encompassed by the city of Los Angeles is huge and has many distinct parts. we don't have the food robots out in my neck of the woods.

@eris I mean, about half the parts where they don't exist aren't really walkable and public transit here really does suck and suck time out of your day if you have to take it.

@kabrams Hollywood is getting less and less walkable with all the encampment sadly I don't even know how the robots get around them -

@eris yeah. I mean at this point that problem is everywhere and there just aren't enough services and some people are so resistant to services (with very valid reasons that I absolutely respect, but also just the living conditions for folks in encampments). there's huge encampments in the San Fernando Valley along Haskell and De Soto, where there never used to be when I was younger.

@kabrams yeah it's really sad. Just move them all into these empty luxury apartment buildings, better than letting them stay empty.. -

@eris socialise housing one hundred thousand percent. for that matter, we'll still have empty units after we house all the unhoused and vehicularly homeless individuals in this fantasy scenario. let's house disabled people who otherwise cannot afford to live independently too!
