   a young guy's hobby in Eastern Germany is to document parking offenders. he's sending thousands of complaints to his city and other cities. those are valid complaints and actual offenses.
   
   now the mayor of his city and the police are investigating how they can charge him.

     @adiz there's media reports, but they are all "how can we stop him?", but no-one reflects for just one second why laws exist that are not just not enforced, but complaining about them is seen as a criminal offense?

     @kaia@brotka.st Why do they want to stop him? They could just repeal the laws that he's documenting violations of. Seems really simple to me. Why would the state even be interested in stopping him? Aren't laws of this nature primarily to generate revenue? So, he's providing them with income opportunities pro-bono which they'd otherwise have to hire officers or parking attendants to document for collections. Whatever. Strange. Europe is strange.

     @adiz yeah, but the laws on parking violations are compulsory. like not parking in a fire brigade access road or not blocking a cycling path. but people still do it and don't get prosecuted. and if this dude tries to get them charged, he gets investigated in return. Germany sucks so much

     I really hope much of it was scripted because the joy this guy finds in hurting other people financially is not normal.
