   @Scot_Paladin @tyler Not only that, but nothing is stopping them from selectively targeting people with special assessments or eminent domain. It's been done before and I expect it will continue.

     Property taxes are how you know you dont live in a free country. I almost feel that living under a feudal lord would have been better. At the very least, he would know the drought affected your crop like everyone else’s and might have had mercy on you. The ”democratic government” never has mercy.

     I really hate how I just had to consider: "do I want to pay my property taxes so the government doesn't steal my house or pay to get my propane tank filled so my family can be warm"
