     1 week ago in Akron, at least 65-75 community members gathered at Grace Park to honor Palestinian martyrs, Aaron Bushnell and Palestinian liberation.
     Grace Park is where Aaron was doing mutual aid work his last couple months in Ohio.
     Palestine will be free.

     Aaron Bushnell's self-immolation was the ultimate act of desertion. Rejection to participate in rulers wars. Rejection of a system that is dehumanizing us all. As such it was an act of anti-militarist militancy.

     After #AaronBushnell set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in protest of its genocidal war on Gaza, the 1st responder ordered him to the ground.
     The 2nd pulled a gun on him as flames engulfed his body.
     Only the 3rd tried to put out the fire.

     Exactly 2 weeks ago today, around this time, Aaron Bushnell, an active duty member of the United States Air Force, set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC to protest against "what people have been experiencing in Palestine..."

     In the case of suicide as we conventionally understand it, death is the goal. It is the both the means and the end, in and of itself. Aaron Bushnell's self-immolation was a means to a very different end: a free Palestine and the cessation of an ongoing genocide.
