found a website where you can get free and personalized legal advice about your rights as an EU citizen called Your Europe Advice https://europa.eu/youreurope/advice/index_en.htm

it's an NGO with over 60 lawyers contracted by the EU commission. they also work with SOLVIT which will actually mediate in disputes between EU nationals and countries that aren't their home country regarding the violation of EU rights https://ec.europa.eu/solvit/index_en.htm and gently remind govt institutions of your rights as an EU citizen

i'm just leaving these here in case anyone ever needs these like i do right now

im honestly baffled this is not more well advertised. especially for people in conflict with an EU govt about their rights as an EU citizen, SOLVIT seems to make the problems just evaporate once they get into it

I have found this document from the European Commission outlining EU rights of freedom of movement extremely clearly, but written for laypeople (as opposed to the 2004 EC law document) which is extremely helpful: https://www.sachsen.de/en/download/guide_free_movement_low.pdf
