     Since WPATH still does the whole "HRT can be dangerous because here's some studies showing that happened with EE and synthetic progestins that no one prescribes anymore" thing and there's this whole "are you *sure* you want to do this?!" paternalism in trans health care that still occurs, it's hard to say which one of those things contributes to this bullshit. It's probably both.
