@ThatWouldBeTelling @skylar @sickburnbro I legitimately don’t give a shit about you or your problems, I’m not your personal home energy advisor because you’re not paying me to be.

@sapphire @ThatWouldBeTelling @skylar I think the most important thing to understand here is that unless you are forecasting a huge amount of blackouts, using your car as a whole-house inverter is not a great reason to get an EV.
Better to have a generator where you can move it to places; if you need to run a transfer pump due to flooding, best to have something you can move there. I can load a portable generator which can power a house into my truck and take it anywhere, and power it on the fuel running the truck.

@sickburnbro @sapphire @ThatWouldBeTelling @skylar the thing I don't get about prepper guys is that humanity existed without power not too fucking long ago, it's not so hard to survive without electricity

@MoralPanic @sapphire @ThatWouldBeTelling @skylar well, it is, because there are a whole set of skills which quickly atrophied once we had power.
something simple that is tricky to do right is to put enough logs on a fire for it to last all night, so it won't burn out, so you don't have to relight it; but it won't burn too hot to keep you awake.
How to burn for coals to add to something like a bed warmer.
