The threat from strasserism/"economically radically but socially conservative"/what you liberals call "red-brown fascism" is not that it will win, because even if it does, it's a wholly unsustainable political formulation. It works by trying to be everything to everyone who is pissed off, but there's no policy or platform that functions there. It's a grand illusion.

The problem is that when it does collapse, what is left, is always the fascism, and never the "economic left." Always. Ask history

(and why don't I call it "red-brown fascism?" Because there's no red. It's not left. Leftism is: anti-capitalist, anti-fascist, anti-racist. There is no "socially conservative" in there. These folks are just fascists who want healthcare and like camping. Nothing more.)

If that doesn't make sense to you, it's because you still don't understand what fascism is. You still haven't learned the real history of why shit like Nazism happened. Fascism always works by bringing together a bunch of angry, entitled people, in patchwork coalitions, each of whom believe the central authority agrees with THEM most. The sell 23 different "brands" of cigarette, but they're all still cigarettes. You think "Triumph of the Will" but that's only what it looks like in power.

Before it wins, fascism looks like this:

Is fascism all of the things, to all of the people? Of course not. In fact they eventually murdered the anti-capitalists in their midst. But fascism takes the quickest route to power, and it recruits everywhere it can. That's the history. So believe it or not, there's nothing weird at all about a broader, Pig Empire fascist movement, having a wing that represents "radical economics and socially conservative values." Those people will never be Fuhrer, but they are useful fuel for fascism's rise

Like I said, 25 separate brands of cigarette, but ultimately still cigarettes. And is our society any different? You've got street nazis, and neo-Confederates, and Christian nationalists, and folks I'd call "strasserists" rather than "red-brown fascists," you've got Moms for fascism, and Yoga fascists, and fake Pagans, and "eco-fascists," tech bro ceos, gamer fascists, YouTube fascists, I could keep going but I hope you get the picture. Many brands, same product.

@AnarchoNinaWrites The NSDAP even accepted queer people at first. Didn't end well for those once they were in power. They even had non-white people. Didn't end well for those too. They even adopted 'socialist' in the party name (a fact libertarians like to bring up when they think themselves clever). Did not end well for workers.

It is as you stated often enough. Fascism has no ideology, it is just about power.
