     @Cleisthenes well, they also spent a lot of time punshing the eastern Oblasts. But good defensive lines takes a lot of time. It took 10 years to build the Maginot line, and probably more to design

     cult of the offensive strikes again. Ukraine should have lines and lines of defenses in depth after years of war. Obsession with optics and launching offensives probably undermined this effort.
