For all of my #Filipino fans (fans?!), #Friendster is making a comeback. ^_^
Currently, by invite only, but you can sign up for the waitlist. I wonder if it's powered by the #webstandard #ActivityPub protocol (a.k.a. #Fediverse network). Hmm…

@vama85 Haha true!
Hopefully it's using ActivityPub or ATproto, they might become the channel to get Filipinos into federated Social Web.
(PS/Context: Friendster was the #1 SNS in the Philippines, it was not MySpace nor Facebook. Facebook only became number one after Friendster went offline.)
@uncomfyhalomacro A good point. Hopefully not.
I checked the whois record of the domain, and since it was bought in 2002, it's first expiration will be next year, 2025. The owner did keep it after they first shut down, and used it for their first comeback.
I didn't look deeper, if it was used for scam and phishing, that means the owner sold the domain after they shut down for the second time.
The attached screenshot was from their second shut down.
During their first comeback, the owner moved here in the #Philippines. If he's still here, we'll probably hear something soon in the jobs boards and media.
@youronlyone i hope this isnt a scam because i heard stories that the domain has been used to collect and phish :)
