At this point, it's pretty certain America won't hear Jack Smith's case before the election. And with that, democracy is gone. Fun experiment for the US while it lasted.
@mjf_pro Your problem is that while there are 80 million, most of those votes don't matter. It's only a handful of swing states that determine the outcome, and in most of those states, the election system has been compromised by the deniers. And so the small number who might be pursued by actual evidence will never see the evidence. Kapoof!
@jimcarroll 80 million Americans — including so-called pastors and so many of our major media outlets — know exactly what Trump is…and aren’t absolutely repelled by it. On that metric, our democracy got mauled in 2015 when he declared candidacy for his first term.
No trial, no matter when it’s held, will change those minds; holding out hope that it might when so many of public information channels are flooded with poison today is, I fear, misplaced.
@mjf_pro I'm just losing faith in the process at this point. As a Canadian, the mind starts to shift as to what happens at our borders as the US melts down. When I have a bad day, I write shit like this. Sadly, much of it seems to be coming true. https://badthings.jimcarroll.com
@jimcarroll You get 10M of those 80M — 1/8 of them — to acknowledge that treating each other like 🫏 🕳️ s is unacceptable in society, least of all from its leaders, and we have a different narrative. When basic social graces that once mattered mean nothing, persuading people at the margins that “LOOK! TRUMP DID BAD THINGS!!” is a fool’s errand, because at the heart of it all, they will never accept that their savior is bad.
