To me that's to blame on egotistic rockstar image "cybersecurity" has today.
Infosec is in corporates' minds a mix between wizardery, psychanalyst and expensive button-pusher for blackboxes they have no idea why they were bought for but can cause total financial ruin to them.
Mix of fear, envy and hate.

It's tempting to play olm'IT god facing people like that everyday, being the detainer of knowledge they wouldn't care to understand...
Hard to simply be human.
