A fun thing I learned…
The word “bad” is derived from the Old English “bæddel”, which was used to describe hermaphrodites or gays.
It was used so much in a derogatory way that it became synonymous with anything generally bad.
Today we use “gay” colloquially to refer to something bad. We call something gay when we don’t like it.
So we’ve come full circle, because we still instinctively know that fags are bad.
