The one "good" thing in this is the comment from the guy about how his son found out, called him a troll and he's done it less out of fear of being labelled.
Sadly, the fact that it's blokes going for an "easy target" is no surprise

@GossiTheDog Wait, it allows people to talk about things which others disagree with, and not have to worry about being silenced?
@GossiTheDog Very true, you'll notice I tend to use the "startled rabbit" approach to prompt thought and discussion. (Thanks for providing the reports for me to moderate, I'd not had a chance to test the panel before.)
@GossiTheDog Oh, I thought the bot was yours, it went wild with about 7 automatic reports:
@GossiTheDog I know, but it must be following you and reporting people for whatever reason *shrugs*
@ben @GossiTheDog That's my thought as well. One of the aspects of this, tho, is that the effective masking of the user concerned doesn't allow me to block them specifically, or for that matter, to identify a specific problem user. I do understand why they (infosec.exchange) would mask the identity, but, as we see here, it leads to unintended consequences where the system itself can be abused to spam the reporting mechanism.
I don't want to block the reporting bot or the instance :)

Weird. If they were reported all at the same time, it might be that someone just ticked loads in the interface - AIUI people used to do that when mass-reporting on Twitter in the hope it'd mean moderators didn't properly review and suspended/blocked
@ben @GossiTheDog or this one: https://alien.insurrection.tech/@Pontificator_OMF/111991889866795880
@ben @GossiTheDog I'd understand it if it were that specific post, but why this one? https://alien.insurrection.tech/@Pontificator_OMF/111962599357975972
I don't think it's a bot in the way you're thinking - I **think** the forwarded reports are just rewritten to come from that account (infosec.exchange runs Glitch). Those 7 reports probably came from actual users (and like @GossiTheDog I can totally see why)
@GossiTheDog I'm going to have to add the /s flag to those in the future; hopefully the bot will understand that.
@GossiTheDog @ben This is a matter where, although well intentioned, I suspect it'll become a serious problem later. It would only need a bot to auto-report, and things would get pretty wild pretty quickly; report system DDOS.
