@StillIRise1963 The only glimmer of hope ths offers for humanity is that maybe all of those MBA types have finally run out of ideas.
@WarnerCrocker This makes me laugh hard. It's so damn DUMB.
@WarnerCrocker I dated a CFO in 2014 who mentioned this during a trip we took to Portland, OR. He mentioned it in relation to the long lines at Voo Doo Donuts.
The concept is probably one that looks great on a spreadsheet, but I’m not sure how it would work in practice. Of course, I’m not an economist. My area of expertise is people.
@mckra1g That’s the paradox of modern business practices. Their expertise might be “food” or name a product, but it’s actually people. ‘People’ don’t fit well into cells on spreadsheets or into that mode of solving for solutions.
@WarnerCrocker Reminded of exploring a possible business post grad degree by auditing a simple marketing class. What could wrong? I’m a consumer! I love shopping. I was approaching forty, I grew up loving advertising, reading classics on branding. I was a graphic designer! America!
Absolutely appalled at the principles being laid down without
question as foundational gospel.
The stupid and idiotic, the wasteful, the backwards. So much energy spent on tactics like weekly furniture rearranging.
@WarnerCrocker "Wendy's will soon begin testing a new way to lose customers".
@WarnerCrocker
I'll help make sure people don't have to pay these marked-up prices by not helping to cause a surge
@StillIRise1963 @BruceMirken They will probalby get a bonus and a promotion.
@BruceMirken If they had sense, they'd fire the person who "thought" of it.
@StillIRise1963 @WarnerCrocker Hey, New Coke was an idea! And at least as good as this one. 😱
@WarnerCrocker If you can even call this an "idea." 🤣
@WarnerCrocker so no one will go to keep the prices down.
@WarnerCrocker cars pulling away as soon as they notice price change. But there has already been an investment of sitting in your car for 16 minutes like some idiot.
@WarnerCrocker sorta feels like any profit they might otherwise have gleaned from this is going to be cancelled out by consumer backlash before it's even happened. True genius moves
@doctorLURK The PR timing of releasing this news almost a year in advance feels like it may have been a trial balloon, or an attempt to get the bad ballyhoo behind them early. If so, I’d say that burst specatcularly.
@WarnerCrocker Let’s punish people who want to eat here at typical meal times. LOL, that will teach them.
Discounts for unbusy times might actually make sense, but raising prices on your existing customers for being there is bananas.
@WarnerCrocker We’ll just switch to eating at off-peak hours, like doing your laundry at night.
