   I need to set up a physical button that just kills the top CPU consuming process when pressed.
   
   Sometimes things get so bad that I can't even ssh in. Maybe telnet (restricted to local LAN) will have better luck.

     @efi disk light isn't blinking much and the monitor is still working so I csn see there's 4.3GB RAM free and high CPU load. Tho the fact the statistics keep updating is odd.
     
     CPU load is on 44.32. SSH authenticates but can't connect to session.

     @Polychrome you sure it's not pagination? I changed swappiness from 60 to 10 and the difference on high ram load is silly
